Dear friends, community, benefactors, and all the good samaritans here.
First, let us introduce ourselves. We are volunteers at Stand with Ukraine LA. We are representing Ukraine in the United States of America here in California, we are the sons, daughters, mothers, grandchildren, friends, spoused and beloved of the brave people of Ukraine, not only military but also all the civilians, who stand their ground against oppression and the threat of destruction of our whole nation, our whole people, community, parish.
There is a larger story that needs to be told to the world eventually, but the main urgent point is – Ukraine never invaded another country, we never broke any of the global territorial agreements, never oppressed other folks. On the contrary – Ukraine was a home to Ukrainians, Russians, Romanians, Romas, Belorussians, Crimean Tatars, Bulgarians, Hungarians, Poles, Jews, and Armenians, to which it could provide equal opportunity and protection until recently, when our state got threatened by the unprovoked invasion of the Russian army, possessed and ruled by insanity. Now every nation within Ukrainian borders is in danger from a suppressive hateful, and chauvinistic Russian Empire that not only doesn’t treat its own citizens as humans but now decided to spread this human-hating principle to a peaceful neighboring independent country. The main issue that Putin’s Russia has with Ukraine is our strive for self-determination, identity, and freedom from oppression.
Unfortunately, not everyone sees things as they are. There is a delay with helping Ukraine stand its ground (and the ground of the whole democratic free world), against the evil forces who are massacring cities and maternity wards with their bomb shelling. And as the world is frozen in an indecisive pose, we have thousands of wounded, starving, and terrorized civilians – elders, mothers, children and newborns, people with disabilities – all sieged and bombarded by the Russian occupying army.
We deeply appreciate and value your kind support, empathy, and understanding of our folks’ current desperate and poor condition back at home, all across Ukraine. We need your help. We need your support. We need you to inform and spread the word on this issue… before our bravery and resistance will break against the indifference of the world.
Thank you. Godspeed to us all.
